This is Alex (a.k.a. Dad), guest blogging for Heather.
As mentioned previously, we’ve moved a second time to a new-ish home in Sudden Valley. We’re all getting settled in here, but doing so makes for a full day most of the time.
Cole has recently taken a rock-climbing class at the YMCA in town.
I think he enjoyed the class, but more for the thrill of hanging from the belay rope ala Spiderman than for the rock climbing. He also got a lot out of jumping from the wall onto the mats. I missed his big show during the final class where he reached the level of the second-floor mezzanine where Mom and Audrey were standing. When he made up his mind to get some elevation, he certainly did well for himself.
With the recent election, the local fire districts had a pancake feed to educate the community about a measure on the ballot. Cole hasn’t let his ardor for all things Star Wars diminish his enthusiasm for fire fighters and all that they represent, so we made a point of attending. Here he is demonstrating proper seat belt donning procedures while in an ambulance.
I’m inserting this one because he’s just so darn cute! Mom’s dimples look great on him.
Later that day Heather took the kids to the public market where Cole got riddim’. The girl looking on thinks he has almost as bad a sense of time as his dad does. With a little practice, though, he’ll be ready for the drum circle at the fountain in Seattle Center.
After the music lesson he introduced Audrey to the friendly goat statue.
I’m not sure what happened next, but both kids developed a bad case of stinkeye, which Mom caught on camera. At least they come by it honestly…..(Dad)….
The good thing is that it doesn’t last too long…
Being that Halloween only comes once a year, Heather makes sure the kids get to a bunch of different pumpkin patches. This one had a great apple orchard (u-pick),
Golf carts to ride with Grammy....
Some earth-moving equipment…
